THE FOUNDATION

On Wednesday, July 14, 2010, Schwenningen entrepreneur Joachim Spitz had a dream start for the founder of a foundation: Federal Minister for Family Affairs Kristina Schröder personally presented him with the foundation certificate. That also fitted: In fact, what Spitz will do for good in the future under the umbrella of the ProKids Foundation falls within her department: ProKids collects funds for projects that benefit children in need. Joachim Spitz has worked under the "ProKids" brand in recent years two local aid initiatives set up - in VS and in Rottweil - which will now be managed by the Foundation. His vision, he said yesterday, is to launch "as many local initiatives as possible" that work independently of one another and help on a regional basis. "With our foundation," says the founder, "we want to help as many children as possible." Concrete projects in Villingen-Schwenningen are already planned, revealed Spitz.

Furthermore, ProKids wants to finance the school meals for children from needy families as before. Of course, this means a lot of effort; for this you need around 25,000 euros in donations per year.



Member of the Bundestag Siegfried Kauder, who presented the foundation deed together with Federal Minister for Family Affairs Schröder, praised the work of ProKids and described Joachim Spitz as a doer who acts instead of just talking. "It's easy to talk about volunteering, but he paid for the baby hatch," Kauder stated dryly, alluding to a large social project that was only recently completed: ProKids had put a lot of effort into installing such a hatch in Schwenningen taken care of.
