ProKids MEETING
Games, fun & homework support for kids
The ProKids Treff was born out of the idea of providing young families in Villingen-Schwenningen with a place where they could connect. Here, children and parents meet in a relaxed atmosphere over coffee, tea, and cake. Games and crafts are available for children of all ages.
The facility in the Schwenningen Youth Center was initiated by the married couple Ulrike and Dr. Karl-Henning Lichte and taken over by the ProKids Foundation as its sponsor in spring 2012.
The volunteers and employed educators at the ProKids-Treff help families in a variety of ways, for example, by arranging children's clothing (used and new), toys, offering low-threshold counseling, and assistance in emergencies. Children can also be supervised with their homework upon request. Many families are grateful for the support provided in dealing with authorities, for help in emergencies, and for the discussion groups on medical and educational topics, among other things. The ProKids-Treff also organizes large events, seasonal projects, and a vacation program. Here, even children from families who otherwise could not afford it are offered attractive activities that provide very special experiences for the little ones.
All of this is offered free of charge to visitors to the meeting. The socio-educational family support provided by ProKids is intended to help parents or single parents with very practical assistance in managing everyday life.
