ProKids MEETING
Games, fun & homework help for kids
The ProKids meeting place originated from the idea of providing young families in Villingen-Schwenningen with a space to connect and share experiences. Here, children and parents meet in a relaxed atmosphere over coffee, tea, and cake. There are games and crafts for children of all ages.
The facility in the Schwenningen youth center was initiated by the married couple Ulrike and Dr. Karl-Henning Lichte and taken over by the ProKids Foundation as the operator in the spring of 2012.
The volunteers and staff of the ProKids center help families in a variety of ways, for example, by providing children's clothing (both new and used), toys, easily accessible counseling, and assistance in emergencies. Children also receive homework help upon request. Many families are grateful for the support provided when dealing with authorities, for help in emergencies, and for the discussion groups offered, covering topics such as medical and educational issues. The ProKids center also organizes large events, seasonal projects, and a holiday program. This provides children from families who otherwise could not afford it with attractive activities that offer them truly special experiences.
All of this is offered free of charge to visitors of the meeting. The social-pedagogical family support provided by ProKids aims to assist parents and single parents with practical help in managing everyday life.
